Research

BioRICS has a strong collaboration with Measure, Model and Manage BioResponses (M3-BioRES) from the University of Leuven. Together with this partner BioRICS performs high level research in the field of bioresponse variables.

Fit-for-Life 65+

The 'Fit-for-Life 65+' project is a LIFETECH SENSING scientific project, supported by VITO, Flanders Smart Hub and the province Vlaams-Brabant, aims at finding innovative solutions to reduce the costs of elderly care and increase the self-efficacy of seniors.  This project runs from October 2012 to September 2013.

Sleepiness detector

Using a patented approach to model bioresponses on the body, BioRICS has developed a methodology to predict sleepiness of drivers. The unique approach of BioRICS made this method very robust and is currently being validated with external partners.

Monitoring the performance of swimmers

Instant feedback during training: this is what most coaches want. For swimming most of the feedback to the swimmer is now given based on subjective observations. Using accelerometers BioRICS aims at creating more objective variables that can be used for training feedback.

Monitoring the performance of horses during training

Using the same technology as BioRICS uses with athletes, the physical and mental condition of horses can be monitored in detailed way. Specilialized algorithms make it possible for the trainer to get instant feedback about specific condition variables and the mental status of the hores during training.
