SportsTechLab is a living lab for sports in Flanders, set-up with the financial support of the ‘Provincie Vlaams-Brabant’. The objective is to get new insights and develop new technologies which support sports people and coaches in order to improve performances in sport and prevent injury.
Companies, research groups, sport policy makers, coaches and sportsmen/women are encouraged to work together and share data which they all store in a cloud-environment. A trial and field lab to carry out the experiments is being set-up in cooperation with the Koninklijke HockeyClub Leuven (KHCL).
By creating the interaction between the different partners, innovation in sports is stimulated and new applications with sensor technology are tested in order to develop better products for the sports world.
